A team of doctors here have removed an iron rod from the leg of a 30-year-old auto driver in a 'rare surgery' as the rod had pierced near his ankle and got embedded in the rickshaw.

GLENTORAN skipper Paul Leeman admits his focus has now turned to next season after injury ruled him out of the remainder of the current campaign. South Africa skipper Graeme Smith is expected to recover from his fractured finger in time to lead the Proteas in the Twenty20 World Cup in April.
